There are a lot of not very flattering myths about real estate agents, and quite often when people are thinking of looking at Cincinnati real estate opportunities, they avoid going to a real estate agent because they believe these myths. Let’s debunk a few of these myths right now.
Myth #1: All real estate agents drive luxury cars.
You will sometimes see real estate agents driving luxury cars, but generally those are the real estate agents to the very wealthy. Real estate agents who sell million-dollar mansions generally do have quite a bit of extra cash laying around. In general, however, real estate agents are working people just like anyone else. It’s much more likely that you will see your real estate agent driving up in a Honda or a Ford than you will see them driving up in a Lexus.
Myth #2: All real estate agents know your area by heart.
Ideally a real estate agent would know every street for the entire city that they’re working in. You may find, however, when you’re looking for Cincinnati real estate that your realtor isn’t necessarily familiar with every single nuance of every street you’re looking to live on. Real estate agents are normal people, and although they do spend a lot of time driving around, and a great deal of time researching neighborhoods, they will likely not know the answer to every question you have about the neighborhood you’re looking to live in. If you make it clear to your realtor what type of area you’re looking to live in, they will have the time to do the research about that area of the city.
Myth #3: Real estate agents only want your money.
This is, perhaps, one of the biggest reasons why people did not go to real estate agents when they’re looking for Cincinnati real estate. They believe that real estate agents are only after one thing – money. The truth is that most real estate agents simply want to help you find a home that you love.
